This is a very nice Grove of trees with a concrete path through the middle and picnic tables. I love it

I used Illini Grove a lot my freshman year at UIUC while living at Florida Avenue Residence Hall. It’s a nice shaded place, and offers a variety of recreation opportunities such as hammocking, slacklining, outdoor basketball, reading, and even grilling. The BBQ stations are coal powered, and you must bring your own. There are probably a dozen picnics benches scattered throughout, and the space also features a picnic shelter. It is elevated off of ground level on Lincoln Avenue, which I think helps make the space feel more quaint. It is also important to note that RSOs on campus will host events here especially the first couple months of Fall Semester and the last month of Spring Semester. The basketball court is nice, but you may need to sweep pine needles or pine cones off the cement. The court can get busy in the late afternoons on weekdays or all weekend if it is nice out. Another downside of the park is because it is heavily shaded, grass does struggle to grow at times, which leaves the ground with dirt patches, which can get muddy quick in the rain. Illini Grove has lamps for night along the walking path, and a safety call station seen around campus on the southeast corner.

Very Serene and calm. The volleyball court is also pretty fun. Great place to hang out at and have fun! Just a great place to let loose of all stress and feel one with nature.

Nice place with a few grills, a small basketball court and a place for the kids to play. But it doesn't get mowed that often.
